A lasting home for your recovery phrase
Your recovery words deserve more than a loose piece of paper. ColdTi gives you a compact titanium surface for a manually engraved or stamped backup that you can keep offline, in a place you control. It is a physical record of your phrase, with no electronics to charge, software to maintain or online account to access.
The commercially pure Grade 2 titanium resists corrosion and tolerates high temperatures. Clear, permanent markings help make the record easier to preserve than an ink-only paper copy. Keep the finished plate private and stored securely: anyone who can read a complete recovery phrase may be able to access the associated wallet.
Choose the right way to mark your plate
Use your preferred engraving or stamping tool, purchased separately.
This set suits customers who already own a suitable scribe or metal-stamping tools. Prefer a complete marking bundle? The ColdTi range also includes scribe, alphabetical-punch and numerical-punch options.
What is included
- Two Grade 2 titanium recovery plates
- Two binding-post sets for closing the plates
- Numbered holographic tamper-evident stickers
Only the items listed above are included. The wallet and any additional marking tools shown for illustration are not included.
Set up your backup
- Check the recovery phrase against your wallet backup instructions and plan the order of the words. Never enter the phrase into this website or send it to our support team.
- Engrave or stamp each word, or its carefully verified BIP39 number. Double-check the spelling, numbering and readability of the finished record.
- Turn the engraved surfaces inward, close the two plates using the binding posts, and apply the included seals. Store the set in a private, secure location.
FAQ
Will it work with my wallet?
ColdTi is designed to record 12- or 24-word recovery phrases, including those used by many hardware and software wallets. It does not connect to the wallet. Follow your wallet provider’s instructions and confirm that your chosen recording method preserves the complete backup.
Are the plates locked or encrypted?
No. The plates provide a durable physical record. Closing the double-plate set covers the writing, and seals can show signs of opening, but neither replaces secure storage.
Can I use a different language?
A scribe can record words in your chosen language. Alphabetical punches are limited to the characters in the included set. Number-based backups require the matching word list and an unambiguous numbering convention.
